Loving- Today I rocked (in my own opinion) my vest, boots, and scarf for an amazingly fabulous fall outfit without overheating!
Thinking- To help my seventh grade class with the over abundance of vocabulary being thrown at them this year we've started with Greek roots, one a day. Next year I'd like to have a staff discussion on the amount of vocabulary we hold our students accountable for, 15 words a week (at the very least) per class makes an unrealistic expectation for our students taking four core classes and who already struggle with their work load and reading.
Wanting- Tomorrow morning is my ten mile run, only two more weekends of long runs before my third half- marathon! I can make my goal, I really can!
Needing- I attended a conference on literacy coaching Friday afternoon and realized how much I'm not supporting the staff in the building. I'm more student focused right now, which is VERY necessary but I feel like I'm not doing the entire job that I agreed to. While my time seems to be disappearing quickly and used for all types of reasons, I wish I was supporting the staffs needs more.

I "lurve" Hugh Grant too! watching Love Actually right now as I type ;) I can't wait to wear my fall clothes, it's still not cool enough here in TX, but it's getting there. I'd love to see what you do with Greek roots, we have to focus on Greek & Latin roots for our 4th graders and since I'm new to our grade level I'm curious as to more ways to incorporate the practice. I feel the same way about not supporting the teachers with PD I've gone to & was supposed to bring back. When I did last year though my team was like "Yeah, whatever" so made it hard to give them anything extra they wanted to use :(

A Tale of Two Classrooms
Oh boy it sounds like you are in need of a rest - don't be so hard on yourself - let's face it we all think we could do better and we all could if we had more hours in the day but as there are only 24 we just have to accept we can't do everything (I am typing this to remind myself of this fact too!!)
I love teaching about where words originated from - English borrows so much from so many - my poor little ones as young as 5 will get me going on about this word comes from the French, this is Latin, this means such and such in Greek etc but at least they're getting a rounded education. Don't know how I'd teach it in a logical way (think it might get a bit boring and overwhelming for some?)
My little Halloween treat though might just be the thing they could make to test themselves with so come on over and visit my Currently post - I'd love to see you there :-)
