Spring Break- On its Way

One more teaching day left!! One more! Due to end of the quarter parties tomorrow afternoon we did all of our reading assessments today. This week has been packed with a Health test, math test and regular reading. The kiddos are awesome and totally pulled through it all. Which means I'm grading my butt off trying to get everything recorded and report cards done ahead of schedule so I don't have to worry about them while on break.

My mom, my little guy and I are all headed to PA to see my sister for the first time. Sounds crazy, but my mom due to extenuating circumstances but her up for adoption. Up until three years ago I'd never really known about her. My mom told me when I was pregnancy. Sure enough the next summer the woman made contact looking for her birth mother. We've made lots of phone calls, gone through e-mails, traded pictures. Now we actually will meet. I'm so excited, can't wait to start packing!!!

This weekend we also went to practice my up-do. We still have four months to go but my hair stylist is pregnant and due next month so we had to practice early just in case we can't meet closer to the wedding. I love to plan in advance!! This is how it turned out. It looks fabulous with the dress.

Something That Bothers Me

So tonight, our annual Friday "date" night to Target, I realized something that drives me while waiting in line. My guy and I were excited to pick out a gift for our friends shower in a couple weeks. We're pretty close with the couple and we knew we'd be picking something good. My guy put our son in a cart and we waited for a bit while a couple were on one machine and a woman was working on another. After a bit my guy was bored so he headed over to the DVD section with our son. About this time the woman finishes printing her list. The couple is trying to set up their baby registry so I knew it would be a bit. The third machine mean while is broken. I'm clearly waiting patiently for this woman to collect her sheets and walk away. She stood at the machine no joke, FIVE more minutes just looking at her sheets. By now there was another person waiting. She looks up at the two of us, smiles, and begins to read AGAIN! Not only does she stand blocking the machine, she leans on it while resting!

Luckily, although it was kinda mean, the person behind me said, "Do you mind? How about we switch spots? You lean on the counter and we'll use the machine." The machine hog looked around like- "Oh, I'm in the way?!?!" Laughed and walked out.

Happily I printed the list, collected the sheets and WALKED away. We found a great gift that hopefully the couple loves. Note to self- Don't be a machine hog:)

More about me

So I'm a first year teacher, fifth grade, which I love, love!! I'm also working on my Master's which makes life a little bit more hectic. It's an awesome program from a nearby college that allows 16 first year teachers to work in a school district that's really great. Great opportunity but a ton of work.

At the same time my fiance and I are planning our wedding for this summer. We're super lucky to be able to have our wedding at his parents house. They live out in the country a bit and his mom has beautiful gardens, they're just amazing.

So far we have our photographer, reception, save the dates went out forever ago, my dress and his suit are all taken care of. We've been planning for a long time. My guy proposed right before Mother's Day almost two years ago. So we've had plenty of time to plan everything. I'm starting to look for a printer for parts of our invites. I ended up deciding to put together my own after not finding exactly what I wanted. We were able to print the information card ourselves, put the RSVP's will have to be printed by someone else because of the paper. It's actually what I'm supposed to be doing right now.

Off to find a printer!

First Ever Post

So I've been checking out blogs for forever and have always thought, I should do this. If anything its a great way to journal my daily thoughts that my guy pretends to love hearing all the time. Unfortunatly I do have to get back to my "homework" before I can really get down to blogging.
