About Me

My photo
I'm a mid twenties girl. Who has the cutest two boys ever. I'm married to the best hubby ever (aka the Man). I'm also a teacher of sixth grade with a masters degree in Education. I'd rather be busy than bored. I love things bright and beautiful and my family means the world to me.

Tomorrow we MOVE!!

Tonight we did our final walk through at the new house. Cabinets were finished, everything was cleaned, we went through the whole place going through manuals and information. Then the best things happened..
WE GOT OUR KEYS!!
Tomorrow we head to the bank and officially close on the house. We'll totally be home owners tomorrow by this time. The Man asked what I wanted to move first, I of course said my closet. I wish I had taken my camera but I hated dragging my bag back and forth. Hopefully I'll get a few pic this weekend of moving fun. Pray for no rain!

Oh blogger, how I've missed thee....

Almost a whole week has gone by. Where does the time go? Let me tell you where I didn't go...
In the last week I have NOT been here-
the Bahamas
No Disney Land for us,
No exciting shopping trips,
I wish I was sleeping in,

Alas, I was in none of these places. I was...
Teaching and planning. Lots of kids are going on trips it seems so I get to plan ahead for their assignments.
We've hit this store up a few times picking up supplies for projects and goodies.
I've been filling all empty space with packed boxes. Which Tucker loves, cardboard jungle anyone?

But the best place that I have been, while not following my favorite blogs that I will get caught up on very soon, is stopping by our new house and checking the daily progress. This time next week we will be closing on the house and MOVING IN. WHOO WHOO!!

Bummer news

So I originally planned on doing my top 10 list. It's Tuesday and I actually remembered. But we stopped by the house today and saw a couple changes the builder had made and came up agitated. When building our house we pretty much took the plans of one house we loved and built it again. We went in today and they had supposedly finished out cabinets but they left out the pantry piece. The piece I feel in love with when we saw the other house.

Luckily our realtor is awesome and we got a hold of her right when we got home and she talked with the builder. Can't wait to hear what the solution will be. We're just getting so excited to move in on the first and this could push back the date. It's our first set back and we're angry at the situation. How do you miss this huge piece?

Needless to say my top 10 will be tomorrow. Thanks for listening (reading actually I guess).

Spring is here!

Oh, how I missed 60 degrees. Today I got home and went for a little run. Amazing how wind can change your running pace. I will admit I'm a bit of a wuss when its comes to running outside. I hate the cold, hate it! I don't do rain either. I don't mind heat, of course in MN its not too bad. The wind here can be killer though and I'm one of those that have to feel like I'm actually moving forward. I love my treadmill, we have a close connection. I can control the temp and get a bit of a breeze from the fan to make me feel as though I'm outside. Plus, I can watch a show while I run.

Looking forward to getting out more and breathing the fresh air. I've already tracked my routes at the new house I love the website mapmyrun.com. Plus, Tucker is an awesome bike rider. He's already asked for ramp- which I think we all can agree won't be happening. Time to go play with chalk outside- LOVE IT!

Post Secret 10!

Today is a little different. I love reading the notes in Post Secret. I am always amazed by what people choose to send in. But at the same time wonder if they are scared someone will find out or feel libearted knowing their secret it out and no one will know it's them.

Here are some that I found tonight- some funny, some lovely, either way I hope you smile.
Enjoy your evening.
Happy hump day tomorrow.

Tell me what YOU hink!

YOU, yes you. If you read this tell me honestly. Some of my friends don't quite understand professional wear and my teammate/mentor has no sense of style, at least it doesn't fit mine and vice versa. I've been eyeing a couple spring outfits and want your opinions.
Is this dress okay for teaching? It will come down to length of course but I absolutely love how comfy these cotton dresses are and I hope the cardigan dresses it up.

How about these shoes? Love these, maybe with this skirt, again length could toss it out the window.

While looking through a random catalog I found a cute dress and polo WITH a ruffle:

Both from Land's End. They have classic looking clothes, but the idea of it being a catalog my mom shops from is a little old feeling.
What do you think?

Wonderful Countdown Wednesday!

My goal was to find something about new spring fashion trends, but being on a budget, that would be torture. So, according to the Nest our countdown today:

The 10 Ways to Create a Sexy Bedroom
(at least I can put this to use in the new house)

10 Sheepskin cushions

- In case you want to get coozy somewhere other than the bed. These look super soft, but at $185 I think I'd rather buy a night out or two.

9 Cozy Blanket

-Have to agree with this one. A great cudle blanket leads to some warm, close time. We have a great, tie fleece blanket that I know could be replaced with something luxurious but this one the man and I tied together very early in our relationship. It's not going any where.

8 Serving tray
- This way you're ready for breakfast in bed I guess.

7 Candles
- These can help set the mood and make the room smell really good! Careful where you put them though as to not set anything on fire.

6 Music
-when setting the mood, your favorites songs can be a lot of fun. However make sure you don't start with your exercise jams, it lightens the mood but you look like a goof struggling to find the right play list. (I'm just saying this could happen, perhaps on your man's birthday. We still laugh about it)

5 Lights -Um, really? LED lights, pretty sure we're not in college anymore.

4 Love Notes
- I do like to slip the Man a love note or card every now in then. Sometimes in his car, school bag, lunch, cheezy but he likes it.

3 Satin Sheets
- Kohl's actually had a really nice looking set this holiday season. But being that we live in frosty Minnesota, I'll keep my flannel.

2 Sheer curtains
- I don't know about you, but I prefer that my neighbors not know what the Man and I are doing in our bedroom.

1 Their list stopped at 9, but I figured most of us know the top item to have in a sexy bedroom.
A nice, sexy man to cuddle up with- YUM!

Happy Hump day!

Stay tuned for tomorrow fashionistas- I have a couple q's about work attire.
