About Me

My photo
I'm a mid twenties girl. Who has the cutest two boys ever. I'm married to the best hubby ever (aka the Man). I'm also a teacher of sixth grade with a masters degree in Education. I'd rather be busy than bored. I love things bright and beautiful and my family means the world to me.

I did it!

I finished my first 5k Friday night. It went pretty well. I was tired at the end but it was a super long day. I didn't realize that the race was Friday, I thought for sure it was Saturday. Who does a 5k on a Friday night? Apparently this crowd has always hosted their run on Fridays. So needless to say I was scheduled for my typical Friday night closing shift at Gap.

Luckily my managers helped me out and I went to work right after school. This is a break down of my Friday:
7:30-3:15- Teach a typical busy school day
3:45-5:20- Work at Gap
5:30- 6:30 Eat, sit for a bit, change, get ready for race, meet up with my parents who were watching Tucker, get lined up for race, and wait
6:30- 7:20- Wait some more, run the race, recover, head home
7:30-8 Shower, change, chug some water, head back to Gap
8-10 Closing at Gap

My manager and bestie thought I was crazy and I admit it wasn't my ideal situation. But I stayed under my goal of 32 minutes. Tucker was excited, then even happier when I "won" a Gatorade from the refreshment table, which I of course got to share.

This week is going to be crazy again. We have to clear out the rest of our stuff from my parents, go through all of it so it's not filling up the areas we just cleaned out. School is wrapping up so fast, so we're prepping for next year. I'm applying for some other jobs and my reading certificate. Then trying to plan other activities for Tucker and I this summer. Any exciting plans out there for this summer?

Projects for the summer

So besides trying to read a ton of books- my list is almost overwhelming, but I'm so excited for it. There are a few young adult books my students have been recommending, a couple new ones I've picked up, then more that I've had on my shelf for the last couple of years while in school.
But some things I want to try my hand at are:
I need somewhere to keep my chunky necklaces and bracelets. They take up room on my dresser and I hate the clutter. The frames and string seems more "clean" but the peg board could be longer lasting.Speaking of frames..
How cute is this? She took a cheap plastic necklace, glued it on a frame, and spray painted. I need to build up my frame collection again after destroying some favorites in the move and attempt at spray painting.

And this shirt could force me to learn to sew-Tutorial is here. Love this and it seems easy.

Then there's this- little mod podge and you have some seasonal decor.

What a night!

Thursday night is my favorite night for shows! Talk about up and down emotions. Who out there watched Private Practice?

Love, Love that show. Tonight was the season finale and I was hooked. Losing one of my favorites characters but I can't wait to see how the show starts up next season. The Man is so good about reading Tucker his story and tucking him in tight so I won't miss anything. Be assured I still get in my hugs and loves!

OMG, Addison just jumped Sam! I'm off. Two more days to sign up for the drawing.

Just a quickie!

Random news at our abode:
  • Our sod came in and our dirt "yard" is now buried under marvelous, lush, green grass. Which means I get calls in the afternoon on my way home about where I should water first.
  • I signed up for a fun 5k at the end of the month. Its an evening race for melanoma prevention. I'm hoping to run the whole thing in under 35 minutes.
  • Our school attempted Teacher appreciation week. We got a water bottle on Monday and today at our staff meeting the principle said a thank you that was so very heartfelt (can we say sarcasm). Oh well, its about my kids who survived testing and are getting back on pretty well.
  • We have 21 days left of school.
  • we realized our neighbors have the same garage opening frequency as our is set to. Therefore, they can open our garage with their opener. Creepy! But they are awesome people who helped us and will make sure our door stays down until ours gets fixed.
  • After watching the Hills, I've realized that both Heidi and Spenser have lost it and are continuing to search for ways of attention.
  • Mother's day is this weekend, be sure to send some love to your mamas!
Happy hump day!

If you need a laugh...

I found this on another blog tonight and laughed so hard. Tucker might have actually ssshed me.
I will be thinking of this every time I hear Lady Gaga.

On another note. I have a total snack person lately. I craze sweets all the time. Maybe I need more water. But when I craze a sweet I think about it until I get it. Any recommendations on health snacks? I'm getting a little burnt out on the 100cal packs. Probably more fruit is needed to.

Last side note of the evening- 23 days left of school. WHOO WHOO!!
